Each of us has something special, something quirky, attractive and captivating. If my pieces celebrate your special qualities, I feel that I have done something worthwhile.
My inspiration is the colors of the sky at sunsets, sometimes stormy, with bright unbelievable fuscias, and pastels, and the bluest sky. In the fall the greys and dull colors of the yellowed clouds, contrasting with fall leaves. My inspiration is the 1800's, when clothing was all pretty, every skirt, dress, necklace, and belt was pretty, and women could not even vote. I am so glad to be living now, when I can wear the clothing, design the jewelry, and vote too. My inspiration is the Renaissance, how could it not be?
The button jewelry is made with vintage buttons from the 1930's-1950's. The floral jewelry is made with authentic vintage acetate flowers that were imported in the 1950's from Japan. Each one is over 50 years old. The material is a plant based plastic, and is more porous and more natural than resin cast pieces. The pieces are hand dyed many times to achieve subtle and beautiful effects that compliment your natural coloring. The custom designed modeled and cast settings are 100% lead free metal made and cast in the USA. The chains and findings are solid brass and they come from the USA and Japan. Some chain styles are vintage. All plating is done in the USA.
The jewelry is also made with Swarovski crystals, fire polished Czech beads, vintage brass stampings, African paper beads, semi-precious stones, vintage beads, elaborately painted brass pieces, and faux pearls. The posts are surgical steel, the earwires are surgical steel or brass, and you may purchase any of the drop earrings with sterling silver wires or gold filled wires upon request.
